What is Holiday Leave - COL holiday?

Holiday Leave – COL Holiday refers to the leave employees take during recognized national holidays in Colombia. These are official public holidays established by the Colombian government, during which employees are entitled to time off from work.

My employee is not yet a regular employee, are they eligible for this?

Both probationary and regular employees are eligible for Holiday Leave – COL Holiday. The entitlement to this leave begins from the first day of employment, meaning employees in any stage of their tenure can avail of this leave.

If I require my employee to work on a Colombian Holiday, do they get extra payment?

Yes. If an employee works on a Colombian holiday, the standard practice under Colombian labor law is to pay 1.75 times their regular hourly wage for work done on a public holiday. This is equivalent to 175% of the standard pay rate.

If employees are not required to work on a Colombian public holiday, Colombian labor law stipulates that they are entitled to receive their regular pay for the day. Additionally, employees should record this under "Holiday Leave - COL Holiday" in FiltaHR for proper documentation.

How would this look like in my invoice/billing?

This will simply look like an employee is paid on a normal working day and will not have a separate breakdown in your invoice.

However, if your employee worked on a Colombian Holiday, your invoice will show the extra payment  your employee receives. The total holiday pay will follow this formula:

Total Payment=Regular Hourly Wage×1.75×Hours Worked on Holiday
