How do I request a bonus/incentive/commission for my employee?

To request a bonus, incentive, or commission for your employee, please fill out a ticket via our ticketing system.

For Philippines Employees:

When calculating what amount to give your employee, you will need to take into account the following for employees in the Philippines:

  • Employee bonuses, incentives, and commissions in the Phillippines are subject to income tax charges. It is customary for employees in the Phillippines to not have to pay the income tax charge out of their bonus, incentive, or commission.  As such, any bonus, incentive, or commission you wish to provide for your employee will also need to include an extra amount to cover the required income tax payment.
  • The income tax rate for these payments is 30%.

For Colombia Employees:

  • Employee bonuses, incentives, and commissions in Colombia are subject to income tax charges. It is customary for employees in Colombia to cover their own income tax charges out of the bonus, incentive, or commission they receive.  As such, there are no additional taxation charges to be paid for by you.
  • Please note however:  Under Colombian labor laws, any bonus, incentive, or commission exceeding 40% of the employee's monthly basic salary is considered part of their overall salary. This increases the base for calculating mandatory government benefits, potentially resulting in additional ongoing costs for you on a monthly basis.
  • Recommendation: To avoid these extra costs, we recommend that you keep bonus payouts under the 40% threshold or distribute the bonus in staggered payments over subsequent pay periods or months.

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to ensure your team members receive their bonus/incentive/commission without any hassle:

Step 1: Access the Client Support Portal: Navigate to this link. This form is crucial for initiating the bonus/incentive/commission process.

Step 2: Complete the Form: Provide the necessary details in the form:

  • Employee Information: Include the name of the recipient.
  • Amount and Currency: Specify the bonus amount and the currency. It will be converted into Philippine Peso (PHP) or Colombian Peso (COP) on the processing day.

Step 3: Filta Processing the Payment: Once you have submitted the form, we get started on payment. Allow up to 48 hours for the processing:

  • For amounts under USD 300, processing begins within 48 hours upon receipt of the request and the request will be included in the employee’s next pay run.  This amount will be charged to you in the next regular monthly invoice.
  • For amounts over USD 300, we will issue you with a separate one-off invoice for payment.  Processing of your request then begins within 48 hours following the receipt of the invoice payment. The request will then be included in the employee’s next pay run.
  • There may be a 10% administrative fee applicable.

Step 4: Confirmation: You will receive an email once the bonus/incentive/commission has been successfully processed and included in the employee’s next pay run.

Step 5: Employee Notification: Let your employee know about the upcoming bonus/incentive/commission.
